Professional tree work is an essential service that helps maintain a well managed and aesthetic landscape for everyone to enjoy, whilst preserving the balance of our ecosystem. We help to encourage the healthy growth and development of trees and shrubs, with all our trimmings, chippings and timber being re-used or made into a piece of rustic furniture etc, where at all possible.
With our roadside chipping operations we can return our clients green waste in a more useable form for use within their garden as mulch, which reduces maintenance and the need to use chemical weed killers this also helps to reduce transportation and other hidden costs to our environment. When waste is not required by our clients, it is transported back to our holding depot where it is separated and recycled, for example, large stems of timber are either carved into usable garden furniture or features. If it is of poor quality, local authorities use it as blockades for restricted access etc, after all it‘s much better than the bi-products of our operations being placed in landfill!. All the smaller timber is either passed on as firewood or ground down into chips and then are transported to chip mills for the production of chipboard. We produce in excess of 2000 tons of wood waste per year and of that I can honestly say 95% of that is recycled.
The Environment Agency are now requesting that all Arboricultural contracting companies
who regularly transport materials and waste, for example: woodchip, brushwood and logs, have to hold a Waste Carriers licence to do so.
Any professional and environmentally aware tree care company will hold a valid Waste Carriers Licence and will only be too happy to show you a copy of it if required. To check if a company holds a licence, simply contact your local Environment Agency.
