Our Timber Lift and Shift Service is available throughout the South Manchester area.
Myers Tree Care offers a ‘Lift and Shift’ service throughout the Greater Manchester area, utilising our crane wagon. This unit consists of a Volvo FL6 18 Ton flat bed wagon with a sleeper cab and Hiab 160-2 crane, capable of lifting 2 tonnes at approx 25ft.
This service is regularly used by a wide range of clients, including fellow tree surgeons and arboreal contractors who utilise this capability to transport their large timber from site, helping to reduce the need to ‘manhandle’ heavy timber and thus reduce labour and transportation costs to a minimum.
Timber can either be transported back to the contractors own premises or disposed of by Myers Tree Care. If we take the timber as part of the arrangement, it is recycled / used as explained in our arboreal waste disposal section.
But the Lift and Shift Service is not just for tree surgeons and arboricultural contractors.
The unit is available for hire 24/7 and is regularly working, re-locating site cabins, shipping containers and is on full time contract work from late November through to mid-December transporting and erecting Christmas trees throughout the North West of England for various clients.
The wagon and crane are fully compliant with all regulations which effect such a rig. These include an operators license for the wagon, a current and valid LOLER test certificate for the crane and all lifting slings/chains and lastly the operator of the crane holds a current and relevant certificate of competence to operate the crane safely.
